About our Teacher

Christine Sikorski earned her M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Minnesota, where she also obtained a B.A. in history.
She has taught literature and writing at the U of M, the University of St. Thomas (where she currently teaches), the Loft Literary Center, Bais Yaakov High School, a homeless shelter, a Zen Center, and other venues.
Her poems have appeared in Waterstone, ArtWord Quarterly, Great River Review, and elsewhere, and her essays have appeared in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Star Tribune. She has received a Loft McKnight Honorable mention, two VSA/Jerome Grants, a Minnesota State Arts Board Grant, Academy of American Poets Prizes, a Gesell Award, and Loft Mentor Series Award.
She is particularly interested in the history and literature of China and of World War I, and lives with her family in Minneapolis.
